Gallows Road Study
Gallows Road Study
On July 31, 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved the Merrifield Suburban Center Plan Amendment (SSPA 2018-I-1MS), which included six follow-on motions. In response to Follow-On Motions 1-4. Fairfax County Department of Transportation is conducting a multimodal analysis for the Gallows Road corridor. The study began at the end of 2022 and the anticipated completion is Fall 2024. The first round of outreach will be held in Fall 2023.
The study will focus on the Gallows Road corridor from Tysons to greater Annandale, as well as some parallel roadways, such as Eskridge Road. The study will also look at barriers to connectivity created by I-495 and recommend opportunities for improvement. A Vision Statement was developed with the Gallows Road stakeholders group, which will help guide the design and functionality of the corridor.
