Fair Lakes Study Phase II Survey
Fair Lakes Study Phase II Survey
Fairfax County is seeking public input for Phase II of a comprehensive planning study for the Fair Lakes area. This survey seeks to gather community feedback on the strategic vision and goals for the future of Fair Lakes, which will inform the study’s next steps. There will be additional opportunities for community input and participation throughout the study process. This is simply a first step.
More information about the study, including the Board of Supervisor’s authorization and project timeline, is available on the project website.
This survey is organized into four different categories, based on topic areas relevant to the study, with a few questions in each category. The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and help shape the future of Fair Lakes!
The Fair Lakes Phase II study will update the Comprehensive Plan recommendations for the Fair Lakes area, the majority of which is located within Sub-unit E1 of the Fairfax Center Area special planning area. The adopted recommendations for Sub-unit E1 may be found beginning on page 54 of the Fairfax Center Area Plan.
Currently, this study is in Stage II of the process, which is focused on updating and refining the adopted Vision for Fair Lakes, as well as determining strategic goals and objectives for Stage III of the study. Stage II is anticipated to be complete by fall 2025. At that time, Stage III of the study will begin to evaluate potential modifications to the related implementation aspects of the Plan, including specific land use mix and intensity recommendations and design guidelines, in order to determine specific recommendations for amending the Fair Lakes Plan. Those recommendations will be considered by the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors during a public hearing process in the final stage of the study.
The original Fair Lakes planing and rezoning was divided into a number of individual Land Bays, as shown on the above graphic.
