Your input is valuable. The Fairfax Area Agency on Aging (FAAA) invites community members, service providers, older adults, and their caregivers to review and comment on the Draft Area Plan for Federal Fiscal Year 2026. The public comment period is open for 30 days (June 25, 2025 - July 25, 2025). Feedback collected during this time will help shape programs and services supporting older adults and their caregivers in Fairfax County.
An Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is a local organization that provides services, resources, and support to older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers. AAA's primary goal is to help these individuals remain independent, safe, and healthy in their homes and communities.
The Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) requires the FAAA to submit an Area Plan. The Area Plan outlines how the AAA will address older adults, their caregiver needs and includes services such as nutrition programs, caregiver support and education, transportation, and volunteer opportunities.
