Plan Forward: The Countywide Policy Plan Update
Let's plan the future growth and development of Fairfax County together!
Fairfax County has launched a new, multi-year project to update policies that guide how land is developed. Called Plan Forward, the project focuses specifically on the Policy Plan which is a component of the Comprehensive Plan, the county’s long-term vision for land use. Plan Forward is an important opportunity to ensure updated Comprehensive Plan policies such as land use, housing, sustainability, and transportation, enhance the quality of life for our residents.
Community input is critical to reflect the community’s planning vision! We encourage all residents to get involved. Below, you can sign up for project updates, sign up for topic-specific small group meetings and answer the survey questions. In addition, general Plan Forward community meetings will be held May 29 through June 27. Community input will inform recommendations to update the Policy Plan and consideration of any new policies needed to enhance the Policy Plan.
