Public Comment

Thank you to those who participated in our initial public comment period regarding the preliminary concept plan presented on September 26. Comments received were taken into consideration when developing two potential design concepts. 

Residents are invited to review the potential design concepts, which can be found under "Documents" on this page, and provide comments. Residents may submit comments below until December 14, 2024 at 5 p.m.

At the conclusion of the public engagement period, comments received will be considered once again and a final design will be generated with anticipation of construction beginning in fall 2025.

Possible Design Concepts

Spohn Ranch has developed two possible design concepts for the skatepark at Mount Vernon Woods Park. Residents are welcome to review the concepts below and provide public comment by December 14.

The primary differences between the two concepts are as follows:

Concept 1

  • Offers grind ledges, slappy curb, banks, quarter-pipes, half-pipe, hubba ledges, hip, manny pad, bump to bump, flatbar, 2 level ledge, extensions, slanted walls and a rainbow rail.
  • Design is more open and will skate more like a plaza.

Concept 2

  • Offers kinked hubbas, A frame, flatbar, bump to ledge, bump to rail, bump over bollard, slanted walls, rainbow rail, banks, quarter-pipes, half-pipe, roller, banked turns and a bank extension.
  • Design offers a more programmed quintessential skatepark feel.
